What differentiates AXIS Camera Station from other similar products?

As one of the first surveillance systems and camera systems we started using, it was quietly effective and met most of our requirements. Also, the cameras hardly developed any mechanical faults which was great.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

the Durability.

What do you dislike most about this product?

not a lot to be honest, think they can expand a bit in terms of how flexible that can make the management application, think zoneminder beats them in that regard.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Please do go for it, more pricey than Zoneminder but it's worth it

Definitely better than Genetec

The camera controls and the IP cameras

Features are still not impressive enough for consideration

What differentiates AXIS Camera Station from other similar products?

ACS is far more GUI friendly and is much easier to implement vs other Video Management System.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

I really love the ease of use of this VMS, And of course the Axis’ Zipstream technology for it greatly lowers my bandwidth and storage requirements.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Nothing, for it has almost all of the needed features for a Video Management System.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Change to Axis Camera Station for it will be much easier in terms of implementation and the actual usage of the VMS from day-to-day monitoring.

Camera Control The VMS should have the ability to control the camera’s optics, positioning (in the case of pan/tilt/zoom cameras, zoom, and focus.

Video Storage and Retention Data storage for captured video and the ability to set a retention period, based on corporate security policy.

Secure System The system, although traversing a corporate data network, needs to be secure and tamper-proof from all staff except those who are authorized to access it.

Video Extraction and Export The ability to extract relevant portions of the security footage in a common format for investigative purposes and be non-destructive to the source video.

Device Access Configurable to allow full access to authorized persons and devices. The latter may include cell phone, tablet access, multi-monitor workstations, or laptops.
