Visibility into progress
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Jira from other similar products?
The biggest benefit of Jira is how it brings structure and visibility to every project my teams handle. Whether it’s a new product launch, marketing campaign, or customer enablement initiative, I can monitor timelines, deliverables, and blockers in real time, and this has drastically reduced delays for deadlines. For strategic planning, Jira provides insights into team velocity and capacity, allowing me to allocate resources to the most critical priorities. I also use its dashboards to report to executives, showing campaign progress in an easy-to-digest way.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
Jira is great for managing complex and cross-functional projects, since it's very flexible and it can adapt to many types of workflows, whether it's a sales campaign or a product launch. It has visual boards like Kanban or Scrum which make it easy to see the progress of each project and what has been completed, giving us full visibility and allowing us to work faster towards our goals. I also love how it facilitates collaboration across different departments, allowing us to work together in different functions in the same ecosystem. It's such a complete tool that allows for seamless communication,
What do you dislike most about this product?
Jira’s biggest weakness is its complexity, especially for teams outside the engineering department. The abundance of customization options can lead to clutter if they are not managed carefully. Setting up workflows and reports takes time, and if your team isn’t experienced with Agile methodologies, the terminology and structure can feel overwhelming and take a lot of time to get used to. Reporting, while powerful, requires manual setup and familiarity with JQL, which isn’t intuitive for most marketing professionals.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
For new teams adopting Jira, my biggest recommendation is to start simple. Begin with a few key boards that mirror your core workflows first, don’t try to customize everything on day one as you'll get confused and it will be harder to set up everythinglater. Set clear conventions for how to label tasks, assign ownership, and use priorities to avoid confusion later. I would also strongly suggest providing training sessions for non-technical users early on so they're not held back on adoption of the software.
Pros
- Reliable
- Trustworthy
- Effective Service
- Inspires Innovation

Powerful Project Management Tool
Likeliness to Recommend
What differentiates Jira from other similar products?
Jira stands out for its robust issue-tracking system, deep Agile support (Scrum, Kanban, sprint boards), and extensive customization options that fit nearly any workflow. It also integrates seamlessly with Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, and hundreds of marketplace apps, giving teams a unified ecosystem for development and project management.
What is your favorite aspect of this product?
My favorite aspect of Jira is its flexibility and transparency — it allows full visibility into project progress, team workload, and sprint goals. The automation features and custom workflows save significant time, while real-time updates keep every stakeholder aligned.
What do you dislike most about this product?
Jira can feel complex and overwhelming for new users, especially during setup and customization. Reports and dashboards require extra configuration, and performance can slow with large projects. The UI could be more intuitive, particularly for non-technical teams.
What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?
Start with a clear project structure and defined workflows before full adoption. Leverage Atlassian Marketplace plugins for reporting, time tracking, and automation. Provide training for new users to overcome the initial learning curve. Once set up, Jira becomes an excellent tool for managing complex, collaborative projects.
