What differentiates Microsoft Defender for Cloud from other similar products?

Defender for Cloud Threat intelligence uses Microsoft’s threat intelligence , which includes data from Microsoft’s global security operations and Millions of signals from Microsoft products which improves the Detection capability.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Integration with other Microsoft services and products like Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender also the Security management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, and GCP.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The vendor support and the resolution time could be improved.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

A good Product for an Eagle eye view across multi tenant Security infrastructure but could do better with the Vendor Support

What differentiates Microsoft Defender for Cloud from other similar products?

Defender for Cloud has a big win with the integration of different components, which is built upon the existing Azure infrastructure. In combination with the compliany, reporting features and KQL you have a strong product

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

IT really is a single solution for multi-cloud security for Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud environments, it offers native CSPM and CWPP capabilities and supports threat protection on all of these platforms. Azure Arc can also be used in hybrid environments to connect workloads that are not hosted on Azure

What do you dislike most about this product?

A few configurations can be hard from an infrastructural point of view, especially for the Defender for Server parts, next to this licensing can sometimes be a bit complex

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Start small, get a Defender for Cloud PoC at a partner and build up from there. When deploying Defender in hybrid environments, make sure that Azure Arc is properly running first. Do not enable all features, but start with CSPM and the basic Defender parts like ARM, Keyvault en Storage.
