What differentiates PDWare ResourceFirst from other similar products?

PDWare stands out for its superb flexibility and configurability. Unlike other systems that force you into rigid templates, PDWare lets you adapt it to virtually any use case—from capital planning and workforce forecasting to governance workflows and prioritization models tuned for GxP manufacturing. Beyond the software itself, the partnership with the PDWare team truly differentiates it. They’ve consistently acted as collaborators who understand our goals, not just as software vendors, helping us tailor and evolve the platform to fit our complex, regulated environment.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The balance between structure and flexibility. Once configured, PDWare is incredibly intuitive and powerful. We especially value the scenario modeling and “what-if” analysis tools that let us evaluate portfolio feasibility against real resource availability. The platform delivers clear visibility into priorities, progress, and capacity—all in one place. And the customer support is simply outstanding: responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive in helping us refine our setup to meet new challenges as our organization evolves.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Honestly, there’s very little to dislike about PDWare. The platform is stable and intuitive once configured, and the support team is exceptional. If anything, the only challenge is that PDWare’s breadth and flexibility require some thoughtful upfront design to take full advantage of its capabilities. This is not a drawback—just a reflection of how customizable the system is. Once structure is in place, it runs smoothly, scales easily, and keeps portfolio, resource, and financial views aligned. Overall, PDWare rewards good design thinking and delivers lasting value.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

ake time to clearly define your governance processes, data structures, and reporting needs before implementation—PDWare will adapt beautifully once you do. Engage their team early; they are true partners who help you shape the system to your context. Whether you manage capital projects, R&D, or enterprise portfolios, PDWare delivers the flexibility and visibility to align strategy with execution. It’s a platform that grows with you and continues to improve the more you use it.

Customizability in the latest version is great. Service is very top notch and the people are great to work with.

Customization and support to customize in order to tailor needs to our organization.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Occasional errors that occur. Permissions management could really use a boost as well as improving the import interface.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Overall great product. Support team is really superb with fixing technical issues and open to working with us for making customizations.
